Canadian Women & Sport

Building the website for a vital national sporting organization in support of a new name, a new brand identity — and the same commitment to the cause of gender equity in sport and society.

The Ask

Canadian Women & Sport is an organization dedicated to creating an equitable and inclusive Canadian sport and physical activity system that empowers girls and women.

Previously known as the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS), they worked with our agency partners at Republic to create the new name and brand identity. From there, Stack Creative took over for the build of the new website.

The goal was to provide a flexible, dynamic website that could host a significant volume of resources, workshops, publications, and other valuable thought- and practice-leadership content from Day One, in both English and French, while passing AA-level accessibility standards — without breaking a sweat.

We overhauled the Information Architecture and SEO for the new site, and matched this to a set of flexible, component-driven UX Design templates that gave the client a great deal of creative flexibility within a relatively simple system. The new brand colours of midnight navy, ultra pink, accent blues, and the gradient populated the visual design.

The new name, brand identity and teaser website (which we also created) launched to the public in February 2020, with the full site launched in March.
